At Spiffy Pictures we ask our puppets to do the talking — we also ask them to do the singing, the dancing, the slapstick and pretty much anything else we think may bring a smile to your face.
As a creative team we do ask a lot of our puppets; but that's so, as a production company, we can give you a lot. That is — a lot of silliness peppered with finger snappin' songs just itching to make this world a happier place.
Spiffy Pictures are David Rudman, Todd Hannert
and Adam Rudman. Since 1994 they have created, written, directed and produced both live action and animation projects for: Children's Television Workshop, Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central, Baby Nick Jr. and Noggin.
New Production "Bunny Town " a preschool variety show for Playhouse Disney.
Ongoing Productions include"Jack's Big Music Show” for Noggin and the “Curious Buddies” for Baby Nick Jr.
In Development "Good King Freddy", animated stories with puppet hosts for HIT Entertainment.
David Rudman
His many other talents aside, David is our Director and Puppet Master. He is both the voice of Jack and the heart of the Curious Buddies. In 2005 David received an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Performer in a Children's Series for his work on Sesame Street as Cookie Monster and Baby Bear highlighting his 20th year as a regular cast member. He's performed in numerous television shows, specials and films including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Muppet Christmas Carol, Muppets Take Manhattan, Labyrinth and Elmo in Grouchland. (A special credit goes to David's right index finger for it's solo performance as the Ziploc Finger Man.)
Todd Hannert
As Musical Director and Production Designer, Todd generates the overall "Spiffiness" of our productions. A gifted Pied Piper, Todd charms all ages by setting variable and surprising forms of popular music in perfect harmony with his giddy visual direction. Inquisitive by nature Todd's life in the arts has rendered him an accomplished composer, lyricist, illustrator, performer, set designer and author with a catalogue of accomplishments that include over 150 set designs for stage and film; more than 300 songs including original soundtrack for the Curious Buddies; and a lifetime of illustrations leading to publication of "Morning Dance" by Chronicle Books.
Adam Rudman
Adam's work as Head Writer is perhaps most critical to all productions. Who but he could filter such a barrage of fantastical ideas and give us back a beginning, a middle, and the end. Adam instinctively inserts valuable notions of friendship and goodwill then seamlessly tucks in a passing fancy or the inevitable ad lib. It is as Producer, that Adam's commanding "That's a wrap?" gets us into the edit suite. He is a six-time Emmy Award winning writer for "Sesame Street" and "Cyberchase"; the author of Scholastic's first Cyberchase book, "Search for the Power Orb" and he served as head writer and producer for Fox Sports Network's show "PREPS".
